It is very difficult to estimate a turn-around-time on web development projects, as a lot of it depends on client approvals and content development. The steps below outline the processes that need to happen.
Step 1: Decide on the features.
Look through the list of available features, and the features recommended for you, and let us know what you choose. To add features later will be an additional cost.
Step 2: Content.
Provide us with your content, and let us work out the best way to structure it in your website.
Step 3: Design.
Once you have submitted a clear brief and direction on design, Visual Obsession will submit concept designs as images (not interactive). Once you have chosen and approved one of these designs, Visual Obsession can make some modifications, as directed by you. After that, Visual Obsession can develop the interactive website template. This includes design of buttons, rollovers, colours and usability.
During development of design, Visual Obsession can work with existing company branding or visual standards that you have, provided they match our quality assurance standards. This often includes corporate colours, fonts, logo, feature images, and overall feel/style. If your organisation has established these, please submit exact specifications including CMYK colour values, font files and logo in vector format. Visual Obsession could develop vector format graphics for an additional charge. Vector format enables very precise, defined graphics that can be provided in almost any size without losing quality.
Step 4: Development.
Once the design has been approved, we can begin actually making the website. This does take some time, so make sure the design is approved well before the project deadline.
Step 5: Delivery.
Visual Obsession will upload the website to a temporary development location for client approval. Once approved, Visual Obsession can delegate the domain name and the website will be live. There are some key points to consider when looking at website delivery.
- Domain Names
- If you already have a domain name, we will need access to it, in order to point it at your new website. If you do not yet have a domain name, please let us know as soon as possible so we can register one for you. You may choose to register multiple domain names and point them all to your website (this can be useful for claiming trademarks or minimising competition). Simply supply a list of the names that you want, with correct spelling, and we can tell you if they are available.
- Emails
- Visual Obsession uses Google to serve your mail. We will setup a Google Apps Account. You can either use the Gmail web interface, or we can send you instructions for configuring your mail client (e.g. Windows Live Mail) with POP. If you would like us to come and setup your email client for you, please let us know and we can supply an additional quote. If you would prefer to use your own mailserver, we can point an MX record to your IP Address free of charge.
Step 6: Help and Training.
Visual Obsession can provide ongoing service and training at our standard hourly rate of $89 per hour. Training doesn’t mean you have to come into our office, we offer help and training remotely. By installing a remote-viewing program on your computer, you can give us access to your computer over the internet. Once that link is established, when we move the mouse, you see it move on your end. Then we can show you where to go and what to do easily, with minimum fuss, while you watch from your own office. Once the training is done, you can break the connection, to ensure your privacy.
