n 2016, the Queensland government identified an outbreak of Sexually Transmissable Infections in Indigenous Australians: particularly those living in rural or remote communities. Visual Obsession was contracted by the Tropical Public Health Service (TPHS) in Cairns to develop a public awareness campaign that was to be spread on social media.
Of particular concern was Syphillis, a serious infection that can cause harm to newborn babies. As part of a plan to eliminate Syphillis in newborns by December 2017, Visual Obsession developed a video that aims to reduce the stigma of getting a sexual health checkup, details the risk STIs can have on people: specifically pregnant women and their babies, and finally encourages people to go in for a Sexual Health checkup at their nearest clinic.
