When the Interstate Remote Desktop Training concept was first proposed to study Certificate IV in Websites I had never used Skype, Interactive Whiteboards or Remote Desktop technology. I was not confident of my ability to use them, however it has been extremely easy to both learn and work with them all.
At the start of each day we simply log onto Skype which allows me to have face-to-face contact with my teacher for tutorials or demonstrations & to transfer assignment files. We often use instant messaging to keep in contact through the day if I have any questions. To save time and reduce communication problems, my teacher can also remotely operate my laptop to view & correct my work.
It has been a huge learning curve, but I have a great teacher and I'm enjoying on-the-job training while still at home.
